At Makana Lactation, you get calm, realistic support tailored to your family, not one-size-fits-all rules. Whether you’re pregnant and planning ahead, in the thick of early feeds, or troubleshooting something that just doesn’t feel right, or looking to induce lactation or even relactate ,we’ll talk through what’s going on and make a simple plan together. All visits are virtual, evidence- based, and judgement free, so you can get expert help without leaving the comfort of your couch. Makana also offers a Military and Veteran discounts.
Prenatal Lactation Prep
$150.00 (60-75 mins)
We’ll meet before baby arrives to talk through your feeding goals, health history, and any past breastfeeding or pumping experiences. I’ll walk you though what to expect in the first days and weeks, help you spot normal vs ‘call for help’ and make a simple, realistic feeding plan that fits your family, your birth plans, and your support system.
Initial Lactation Consultation
$185 (75-90 mins)
We’ll take time to really understand what’s going on for you and your baby, review your hearth and birth history, watch a feeding if possible, and troubleshoot what isn’t working. You’ll leave with a clear plan, practical next steps, and a written summary you can share with your paediatrician or other providers.
Follow-up Support
$75.00 (30-45 mins)Shorter virtual check-ins after an initial visit. We’ll review what’s improved, what still feels difficult, and any new questions that popped up as you tried your plan. I can reassess feeding, tweak positioning or pump settings, update your written plan, and help you decide when it’s time to loop back with your paediatrician or other providers so you’re never guessing alone.

Whether you're an adoptive parent, intended parent through surrogacy, or a parent returning to breastfeeding after a pause, your body can do incredible things. Inducing or relactating takes time, patience, and the right guidance. On average, the journey spans 3 to 6 months with support up to 12 months, and you don't have to walk it alone.
3-Month Support — $600
Includes initial assessment, 3 one-on-1 sessions, personalized plan, galactagogue guidance, educational resources, and messaging support between sessions.
6-Month Support — $1,100
Everything above plus 3 additional sessions (6 total), mid-journey plan review, and ongoing supply adjustments.
9-Month Support — $1,550
Everything above plus 3 more sessions (9 total), extended milestone tracking, and a dedicated strategy session to reassess goals.
12-Month Support — $1,950
Everything above plus 3 more sessions (12 total), quarterly check-ins, and a personalized transition or continuation plan at the end of your journey.
